An unidentified man has been arrested after a failed attempt to rob the home of Kid Rock while the musician was away. However, being taken into custody may have been a better option for the burglar, as Rock reveals in a recent posting.

In a post at his website titled, 'Don't mess with a mother----er like me," Rock posted photo stills of the man, who was on crutches, attempting to break into his house. He added, "Thank God I was not on the property at the time of this attempted break in. I am an avid hunter and marksman and I will not hesitate to shoot anyone who has myself or family in fear of our lives."

According to the New York Daily News, Rock's security cameras taped the suspect ramming the gate at his property with a white van and then attempting but failing to break into the house. Rock offered a $5,000 reward leading to the arrest of the would-be thief, and Oakland Count Undersheriff Michael McCabe stated that two tipsters identified the man in question.

The alleged burglar is expected to be arraigned today (Aug. 5) after being held at the county jail over the weekend.
