Judas Priest Unleash Video for Vampiric New Song ‘Spectre’

For months, Judas Priest have been teasing fans with short clips from new Firepower songs alongside hard hitting singles in “Lightning Strike,” “Firepower” and “Never the Heroes.” It’s finally release day and the Metal Gods have unleashed a video one of the album’s deeper cuts, “Spectre.”

It’s a performance based video shot in black and white with isolated shots on each member and we even get a nice glimpse of the custom guitar adorned with the blazing Firepower artwork which is wielded by Glenn Tipton. The song centers around an eerie lead and slugging midtempo riff that conveys an ominous sense of doom. Richie Faulkner is the highlight on this one, texturing the song with simple lead squeals and a classic Priest solo on his Flying V.

As Priest gear up to hit the road in support of Firepower, it’s Faulkner who will serve as the band’s veteran guitarist, despite joining in 2011. With Glenn Tipton unable to commit to the run as he battles Parkinson’s Disease, the band has tapped their producer, Andy Sneap, to fill the role. It all starts on March 13 and for a list of all upcoming dates, head here.

Firepower comes after months of anticipation, especially after Priest revealed they had reunited their classic production duo of Tom Allom and Mike Exeter, adding the modern touch of Sneap to the mix. Go to this location to read our full review.
