The rock 'n' roll gloves are off. The Sex Pistols' Johnny Rotten a.k.a. John Lydon took a pot shot at Ozzy in the Blizzard of Oz's hometown paper, 'The Sunday Mercury,' which is based in Birmingham, England. While Lydon did say that he felt that Black Sabbath's 'Paranoid' is "one of the world's greatest-ever singles," he proceeded to spew some nasty words about Ozzy, hurling insults like "senile delinquent" and saying the metal legend invokes "sly innuendo of promoting drug abuse and catatonic stupidity." Ouch. Those are some pretty harsh statements.

It gets worse, though. Lydon said, "Ozzy is clearly a victim, and selling that loser lifestyle shit to other people equally victimizes them." That's a pretty intense verbal bashing, no?

Well, the Osbournes aren't taking it lying down. Ozzy's outspoken daughter Kelly Osbourne, who has a 'Daddy' tattoo, responded to Lydon's insults in Closer, a British magazine for which she pens a weekly column. Ms. Osbourne said that the Sex Pistols singer is just stirring up publicity for his new book, 'Mr. Rotten's Scrap Book,' by making negative comments. She claims that Lydon has never even met her father and therefore knows little about him. She one upped his comments, calling Lydon a "bitter old queen."

"Last week, John Lydon accused my dad of 'acting like a senile delinquent' and 'promoting drug abuse,'" Osbourne wrote. "People only say things like this when they want attention, and guess what? He has a book to promote! The truth is, I don't think he's ever met my father so clearly he doesn't know that he hasn't done drugs in years. I feel that from one artist to another, there should be some form of mutual respect, and I also think it's sad when you resort to talking s--- about someone else in order to get yourself press."

"Stop being such a bitter old queen, John!" the outspoken Ms. Osbourne declared "You're better than that."
