Guitar god Joe Satriani has been a fixture in the music industry for over 27 years, and the artist is showing no signs of slowing down. After finishing up the European leg of his 'Unstoppable Momentum' tour, Satriani has set his sights on North America, starting with an Aug. 29 performance in San Diego, Calif. (Balboa Theatre).

Satriani's fourteenth studio album 'Unstoppable Momentum' was released in early May, led by the perfectly titled single 'A Door Into Summer.' The musician finishes up his European dates with a July 13 gig in Krasnodar, Russia, and then returns to the States, where he will perform the National Anthem at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (located in Salinas, Calif.) on July 21.

Satriani's band for this tour includes keyboardist Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai), bassist Bryan Beller (Dethklok, Dweezil Zappa), and drummer Marco Minnemann (Steve Wilson, Adrian Belew). The trek winds down in October.

The moniker of Satriani's album fits the guitarist's work ethic, as the musician continues to seek new challenges. In recent years, he's stepped outside of his solo work to rock with supergroup Chickenfoot. With scheduling permitting, the band are set to reunite next year, once Satriani and Sammy Hagar have finished their respective tours.

As for now, the guitarist's focus is on his solo work, with his "momentum" continuing through North America.
