Time waits for no one, and Jason Newsted is getting back on the horse to front Newsted once again, even if he's still recovering from walking pneumonia. The former Metallica bassist chimed in on his condition with an update made last night on his Facebook page.

"Newsted metalheads, I'm feeling a bit better, this pneumonia bug can last a few week sometimes...I gotta keep pushing...the show must go on," said Newsted. "We'll be firing up the metal machine beginning tomorrow in Everett, Wash. We have a couple of very big weeks ahead with Gigantour & the release of our 'Heavy Metal Music' LP on August 6th. Cheers & let's fu--in rock!! See ya out there."

The musician previously missed a week's worth of Gigantour shows due to his illness.

Headlined by Megadeth, Gigantour also features support from Black Label Society, Death Division, and Hellyeah. Its final date is Aug. 11 in Toronto (Molson Canadian Amphiteatre). 'Heavy Metal Music,' which also features Staind guitarist Mike Mushok,' is a follow up to the band's 'Metal EP,' and the new release will feature 11 tracks. The tunes 'King of the Underdogs' and 'Soldierhead' are featured on the EP and the upcoming album. Newsted's previous bands also included Rock Star Supernova and Voivod.
