March 8 is the release date for 'The Scourge of Light,' the new album from American power metallers Jag Panzer. So if you've got any valuables made of glass, we suggest you wrap them up and not play Jag Panzer's 'The Scourge of Light' around them.

It's no coincidence that Jag Panzer share their initials with another power metal act -- that'd be Judas Priest, of course -- since they subscribe to the same soaring metal style as the soon-to-be-retired vets.

Guitarist Chris Broderick is long gone and in the Megadeth fold, but Christian Laseque -- who was a member of the band in the mid-'80s -- has filled his sizable shoes, infusing the Panzer with a more classic, traditional power metal style.

But there are other reasons why 'The Scourge of the Light' will impress. The record supposedly sounds better than anything Jag Panzer have ever committed to tape. That's certainly enough to get us interested.
