Jackyl’s Jesse James Dupree Brews America’s Outlaw Beer in Missouri

Jackyl frontman and chainsaw specialist Jesse James Dupree is quite the entrepreneur. Dupree has just introduced his new beer, America's Outlaw, into the Wisconsin marketplace after healthy launches in Kansas, Missouri, and South Dakota. The crisp, refreshing, unfiltered wheat beer has been so popular that keeping it stocked and supplied has been the rocker's major challenge so far.

"We brew it in St. Joe, Missouri, where the original Outlaw Jesse James was from," Dupree told Noisecreep. "I spent a lot of time working with the brew to get it just right. It's the best beer to eat with steaks!" The recipe calls for 40% malted wheat combined with a blend of Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts, while Willamette, Fuggles, and Cascade hops deliver the perfect balance.

While Dupree has concentrated on Midwestern markets so far, he also plans to extend the brand's reach to the coasts. "We are ready to let it spread like wild fire," Dupree exclaimed emphatically. "The bigger brands make it hard and don't like someone like us, that represents everyone that bust their knuckles 40 or 50 hours a week and is American-owned. None of them are anymore, it seems."

In addition to brewing beer, Dupree's Jackyl hold two world records from the Guinness Book of World Records: one for performing 100 shows in 50 days, and one for performing 21 concerts in a 24-hour period. Dupree is confident those records will stand for a long time. "Die trying if you do it like we did," he said when asked if the thinks the records will be broken. "It was hardcore and no one will really know what we put into setting that record."

On the upcoming tour, Jackyl will be playing songs from the abum 'Get Your Groove On,' and Dupree is confident the shows will inspire a little somethin' somethin' between couples. "There might just be a baby boom after this tour," Dupree said. "Getting people motivated to do the 'dirty dirty' is our biz. PUH POW!"
