Krysta Cameron, vocalist for the deathcore band Iwrestledabearonce, just wants to be considered one of the guys -- especially by strangers who are seeing her band for the first time.

"People seem confused when we get on stage," Cameron told Noisecreep. "Granted there's people who have heard of us before. But then they'll come out to the show, and they'll know what to expect. But then there's people who haven't seen us, but they've heard of us. A lot of times, they're like, 'Wow. We didn't know you were a girl, and we're kind of blown away. And it's cool. You guys are one of my favorite bands now.'"

But being on tour with a group of guys -- guitarist/programmer Steven Bradley, bassist Michael Martin, guitarist John Ryan and drummer Mikey Montgomery -- she said she gets no preferential treatment.

"You get treated like one of the guys, which is what I want," Cameron said via telephone from Tulsa, Okla. "I don't want to be like, 'Oh we can't talk to her because she's a girl. Her boyfriend might get mad.' I know I bleed for a week once a month, but you have to deal with it. But my goal is for it to be equal. It makes me smile when people say they can't tell it's a girl screaming."
