Is Rock Gone Wild canceled? That's the question ticket holders want answered today.

Earlier this week, rumors swirled that the new, four-day festival slated for August 20-23 had hit the skids. The fest recently announced a move from Algona, Iowa to the Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood, Iowa. That move happened roughly six weeks ago – now, questions swirl about the fate of the fledgling fest.

Bands scheduled to appear at Rock Gone Wild include Saxon (at left), Twisted Sister, Candlebox, Kix and many more.

"I'm not able to say it will or will not happen," Scott Smith, Marketing Director for the Diamond Jo casino tells Noisecreep.

Rock Gone Wild general manager Nathalie Faghihi posted online: "Rock Gone Wild was notified on August 5, 2009, by email from legal counsel representing Diamond Jo Casino, that... 'The event cannot take place anywhere on the licensed premises.'"

An online report from the 'Globe Gazette' states "Food caterer Dean Homme, of All Star Foods in Hudson, Wis., said Thursday morning that he was called by the promoter of the event and told the event was cancelled."

So now everyone waits. Promoters promise a press release about the fate of the festival at 4pm CST.
