Legendary Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson has signed on to write an official autobiography! From fronting to one of heavy metal's greatest bands to flying airplanes and successfully battling cancer, Bruce Dickinson will have plenty to write about for the projected Fall 2017 release of his memoir.

Iron Maiden's world tour was pushed back so Bruce could fight cancer, which he was diagnosed with almost immediately after recording The Book of Souls. Dickinson pushed through the recording process knowing something was wrong, choosing to focus his energy on the album over his potential health. Luckily, he's been given the all-clear by doctors, allowing Iron Maiden to embark on a massive 2016 world tour.

Dickinson recently signed a deal with HarperCollins publishers to create the memoir, which is sure to be a fascinating read. "It was flattering to be approached to write a book about my experiences and it seems an appropriate time to do this as I will have plenty of time on tour next year to work on a book," says Dickinson. "I am sure flying the 747 out round the world on tour will add to the tale with some unusual scenarios!"

HarperCollins Publishing Director Jack Fogg says, "There’s no one like Bruce. Which other rock musician can fly a 747, or fence at an international level? He’s a total one-off; engaging, funny, warm, self-deprecating – a British eccentric in its very best form. His book will be outstanding and I am so delighted we get to publish it and work with him.’"

Bruce Dickinson's book is tentatively scheduled to come out in hardback, ebook and audiobook in Fall 2017, with a paperback version to follow in 2018.
