Icarus Witch's new video for "The End," from their 2012 release Rise, is certainly visually arresting. It features performance footage of the band churning out its thrashy power riffage, which is paired with soaring vocals. The clip is semi-trippy and totally psychedelic, as if it came from a different era. It even looks 3-D in some instances, with members appearing to fly at you on screen. It's sort of like an Instagram photo come to life, with some visual effects on the screen during the performance.

The band revealed that they filmed the video on a green screen in Pittsburgh, the editing and digital effects took place on another continent! They were done by Matte Lundberg in Sweden.

"We felt confident in letting Matte run wild with his imagination," the band told Noisecreep. "The only initial direction was that we wanted to heavily feature the photography of Sergey Bisyaev to tie the video in to the art direction of the album. After several revisions with input from the band the result is a twisted, gothic fantasy realm of dark psychedelia. Sort of a Grimm's fairy tale meets Tim Burton vibe, a perfect way to launch the Halloween season!"

The video was funded by contributions from friends, family and fans via a Kickstarter campaign, for which Icarus Witch are eternally grateful.

Icarus Witch's latest album, Rise, is available now on Amazon.
