Hatebreed Unleash Lyric Video for ‘Seven Enemies’

Hardcore heavyweights Hatebreed are set to release their eighth studio album, The Concrete Confessional, this Friday (May 13). With another batch of pit-ready anthems on the way, they’ve unleashed the punishing new track “Seven Enemies.”

The song is the heaviest track that’s been released so far, solely employing stomping, white-knuckled riffs in a nearly two-and-a-half minute pure sonic beatdown. Jamey Jasta again delivers empowering lyrics, criticizing selfish individuals and begging for them to “see this f–ked up world through my eyes.” Lyrically, the song is a play on the seven deadly sins and the frontman commented, “A lot of people gravitate towards their vices and sins and it dooms them. They lead to destructive lifestyle patterns, and then that starts affecting the people around them.”

The bridge furthers the rhythmic juggernaut approach, slowing things down to a crawl with one of the best breakdowns in the Hatebreed discography. “Seven Enemies” rounds out the spectrum that has been covered so far with the previous releases of “A.D.” and “Looking Down the Barrel of Today.” The former is a true raging thrasher while the latter straddles metal and hardcore elements that have become the hallmark of the Hatebreed sound.

The Concrete Confessional serves as the follow-up to 2013’s The Divinity of Purpose, which netted Hatebreed their highest Billboard 200 chart position, landing at No. 20. The hardcore outfit will be out in support, hitting the road the day on May 13 with DevilDriver as direct support. Rounding out the bill will be Devil You Know, who will be replaced by Act of Defiance part way through the trek. Click here for all tour stops.
