Haste the Day, ‘Attack of the Wolf King’ — New Album

Haste the Day

Christian metalcore fiends Haste the Day have debuted ‘Travesty,’ the lead single from their new album, ‘Attack of the Wolf King.’ The predatorily titled new album will be out June 29 through longtime label Solid State. ‘Wolf King’ is the band’s fifth album, and ‘Travesty’ features plenty of shred and screamworks, along with lots of melodic finesse.

The album is also the first recording with the current incarnation of the band, and the fresh blood enhanced writing process, tightening the band’s core, singer Stephen Keech and bassist Michael Murphy.

“I think that ‘Attack of the Wolf King’ has taken the musical elements of Haste the Day — the breakdowns, the melodies, and the mood — and turned it up 10 notches,” bassist Michael Murphy said in a statement. “Fans of the old HTD and the new HTD will be both be in love with this album. It has the raw aggression of ‘Burning Bridges,’ the catchy choruses of ‘When Everything Falls,’ the energy of ‘Pressure the Hinges’ and the mood and feeling of ‘Dreamer.’ Get ready for your new favorite Haste the Day album!”

The band will spend their summer vacation on the road, heading out from June 4 through July 2, and they will follow that tour up with a Warped Tour stint that runs from July 20 to August 15. Die-hard HTD fans should mark their calendars for the June 29 ‘Haste the Day Vs. Haste the Day’ show, where all former members of the band will return to play. It’ll be held in the band’s hometown of Bloomington, Ind.
