Summer is beginning to give up her fight, to borrow a lyrical phrase from the decidedly un-metal Indigo Girls, but that doesn't stop her from pushing out a slate of worthwhile metal releases.

The first week of the year marks the return of Bury Your Dead with their former singer Mat Bruso for 'Mosh N' Roll.' Japanese rock lords Dir en Grey will issue 'Dum Spiro Spero,' as well. Don't forget Powerwolf, if only for their awesomely metal name. It's so metal, it craps iron ore.

Florida metalions Trivium are back with 'In Waves,' which features plenty of guitar acrobatics during the week of August 9th, while the week of August 16th will present us with Chimaira's eOne debut, 'The Age of Hell,' which also boasts a revamped lineup for the Cleveland wrecking crew. Doom merchants Yob also fill our ears with long, lethargic sludge on 'Atma.' The final week of the month will deliver us a new Black Tide record dubbed 'Post-Mortem,' which is long on riffs and hooks.
