One of the most important events of the metal social calendar this summer is GWAR's annual GWAR-B-Q. Nothing else really matters in life -- no ifs, ands or buts. The Scumdogs of the Universe have announced key details about the weekend-long festivities, with the main event set for Saturday, Aug. 17 at Hadad's Water Park in Richmond, Va.

There will be two extra events held over the weekend, effectively supersizing the GWAR-hosted fun. The is-what-it-says-it-is B4-B-Q, will be held Friday, Aug. 16 at the Canal Club, and then there is the GWA-Fter Party, which is also self-explanatory and held immediately after the GWAR-B-Q. Still with us?

The B4-B-Q is free for any GWAR-B-Q ticket holder, with proof of purchase required. Doors are at 7PM and the event features an array of local bands like Apocalypse Dudes, Savage Attack and more. It will be hosted by Dave Brockie and Mike Derks (aka Oderus and Balsac).

There are also new details for the participants of the Spew-O-Lympics, which is the crown jewel of GWAR-B-Q events. The event includes the King of the Swing, Beware of the Blob and the Sperm and Slide. There is a limit of 25 entrants, all of which must register in advance.

The GWA-fter Party is set for Aug. 17, as well. It will be held at Balliceaux in Richmond. It's free to GWAR-B-Qers and the rest of the world.

GWAR, Municipal Waste, Corrosion of Conformity, Pig Destroyer and X-Cops will play the actual GWAR-B-Q. More details are posted here for all those who dare to venture to Richmond for this extravaganza. If you can seriously hang, then the GWAR-B-Q and beyond are the highlights of your dance card.
