Remember The Grimoire of Exaulted Deeds? The uproariously hysterical metal zine that enjoyed poking fun at super serious metal bands by asking ridiculously-phrased questions? Editor Bill Zebub was like metal's answer to Stuttering John from the Howard Stern Show by asking questions with a slicing, humorous edge, which made him the target of much ire for his unconventional way of conducting interviews and asking questions! So what's he been up to? He's glad you asked. Sort of.

"When Tower Records went under, I ate a $6,000 loss," Zebub told Noisecreep. "But I had planned to change the mag to a free publication again anyway. I printed 20,000 copies in the tabloid format, so it looks like a newspaper, and am still deciding about dispersal strategies."

The Web site is getting a major overhaul shortly and is expected to feature daily, perhaps hourly updates, with constant new content. But never fear, fans of actual magazines! The print version is not dead. "It will come out twice a year and will have articles and ads with the most staying power, and will also be available as a free PDF download," he revealed. So while his content-driven empire will continue, Zebub admitted, "I don't get as many death threats as I once did. But yeah, lots of people still don't get my humor."

He also has videos of interviews for his 'Metal Retardation' series. Visit www.billzebub.com and see what actually happened during his 'famous' or 'infamous' interviews. "It's total madness. I selected the choicest cuts and strung them together so that it would be nonstop laughter," he said.
