Sounds like he made a "Pest" of himself!

Norwegian black metal miscreants Gorgoroth have booted singer Pest out of the band. The vocalist was given his pink slip because his bandmates, namely guitarist and sole original member Infernus, were not happy that he was not prioritizing the upcoming tour of Latin America.

Also, as a result of saying the Latin American tour was not at the top of his list of things to do, he was shown the door. This was Pest's second tour of duty with the band. He had originally sang for the band in 1995 through 1997, and returned in 2008.

There is good news for Latin American Gorgoroth fans, though. The tour will go on as planned, with Hoest of Taake slated to fill in on vocals for the time being. Then, a Serbian Satanist named Atteringer will handle the vocal duties on the band's next album. Oh what a tangled web those Christ-hating nihilists aka black metallers weave.

A statement about Pest's dismissal has been posted online, offering more detail than usual about the parting of ways. It read as follows:

Out of respect for and loyalty to Gorgoroth's audience and collaborators, Infernus has kicked Pest out of the band, effective immediately. This after Pest informed the band that he would not be prioritizing doing the upcoming Latin American tour after all, just two weeks before the band was set to depart for Brazil. Infernus has decided that the tour will go on as planned, though, and Hoest of Taake will replace Pest as vocalist on the tour starting on September 7, 2012. As for the next Gorgoroth studio album Instinctus Bestalis, vocal duties will be handled by a Serbian Satanist known as Atterigner, of the band Triumfall (Forces of Satan Records).

Bye bye Pest. Hello Atteringer.
