Glenn Danzig: ‘I’m Open to Possibly Doing More Shows’ With Misfits

The 2016 Riot Fest gave fans a chance to see the Misfits‘ classic lineup of Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only and Doyle for the first time onstage together since 1983, and while we may never see a full-fledged tour, Danzig has left the door open for more Misfits performances in the future.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the vocalist commented on last year’s Riot Fest shows, stating, “It was … interesting. [Laughs] I couldn’t hear myself, so it was exactly like the old days. So it is what it is. But everyone seemed to have a great time. I think it exceeded expectations, which is always good, and the write-ups were just insane.”

He went on to add of the possibility of more Misfits dates, “We’ll see. I’m open to possibly doing some more shows. I don’t want to tour, but if it happens and everything lines up properly, I would imagine there’d probably be a couple more shows. I don’t know when, but I’ll keep an open mind.”

Jerry Only previously told Rolling Stone of the possibility of more shows, “I know Doyle wants it to continue. I know Glenn wants it to continue. We just have to be big enough people to make it continue. And that’s where we’re at. Whatever it takes. We’re going into our fortieth anniversary, so the timing couldn’t be more perfect.”

But before any more potential Misfits dates, Danzig is back to working on his own music. The Black Laden Crown album arrives today (May 26), just as the singer is set to head up the Blackest of the Black Festival this weekend at Oak Canyon Park in Silverado, Calif. The singer, who no longer tours extensively, has a handful of shows booked this summer. See his tour dates here.
