It's time to celebrate the end of the work week with a new track from Ghost! The Swedish Satanic cult and its new leader Papa Emeritus III have graciously presented us with the hymn "From the Pinnacle to the Pit."

Not too long ago, Ghost delivered "Cirice," the first beautifully composed psalm from their upcoming third studio album, Meliora. "Cirice" pointed toward very good things coming from Ghost in the near future, and "From the Pinnacle to the Pit" is a heavy banger detailing the fall of Lucifer.

"We always have had a craving for a truly stomping riff-based song, Led Zeppelin style," a nameless ghoul explains. "Something that would sound great coming out of a car stereo standing at an American high school parking lot."

"The whole album was written and intended to be very futuristic, very metropolitan and urban," a nameless ghoul recently told us in an exclusive interview. "Basically just opposed from the classic goth thing, which is more suburban and rural and more being lush with overgrown cemeteries, spiderwebs… all of that. We were trying to take this thing to a very clean, indoors, 67th floor in a very high building in a very big city. Those were the pictures we hung on the walls in our mind in order to know where we were going."

Stay tuned for that full interview coming soon. For now, indulge in the intoxicating sounds of Ghost and the congregation's newest cut, "From the Pinnacle to the Pit." Ghost's Meliora will see an Aug. 21 release via Loma Vista. To pre-order the album, click here.
