Ghost have just unleashed a new video for "From the Pinnacle to the Pit." Stylized after the German expressionist films of the 1920s, "From the Pinnacle to the Pit" tells a bizarre story with a welcomed twist ending.

Ghost have connected their third album, Meliora, to horror in some serious ways. The single art for "Cirice" and "From the Pinnacle to the Pit" paid tribute to The Silence of the Lambs and King Kong, respectively, while the "Cirice" video showcased some stylistic aspects of Dario Argento films like Suspiria. This newest music video continues that trend, resurrecting the imagery of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and the silent sci-fi classic Metropolis.

In "From the Pinnacle to the Pit" a student is sent to the headmaster's office only to be shown how man can harness the power of a god. The student is turned into an all-powerful man who despises what he's become. This evolves into the creation of Ghost vocalist Papa Emeritus III, but we'll let you see how it happens for yourself in the clip above.

Ghost's 2015 North American tour will begin Sept. 22 in Washington, D.C. and stretch until Nov. 1 at the Monster Mash Festival in Phoenix, Ariz. For the full list of shows, click here.
