In the British press, writers and journalists have intimated that Gallows vocalist Frank Carter has told them in interviews that he is pretty much biding his time with the band, since his truest, deepest passion is being a tattoo artist, effectively saddling Gallows with an expiration date. Guitarist Steph Carter, who is also Frank's brother, was happy to address those tattoo rumors to Noisecreep.

"The tattooing thing with him, when he mentions it in the UK press, they reword everything he says and make it like he says that he just wants to be a tattooist," Carter said. "I have not asked him about it. I know that his passion is tattoo. He is an artist. My passion is guitar. His is drawing. At home, he sits there and paints, whereas I sit home and play guitar. He may want to be a tattooist forever, but they are both his two passions, though. Art has always been his major passion."

It's certainly a perk if you like to collect tattoos and have a brother who doubles as a tatt'er. But that's where the privileges end. "I have tattooed before, but I am not good at it, so Frank is the only tattooist in the band," Carter said. "He has tattooed me several times. I don't think he is tougher on me than any other person he tattoos. He puts the ink in the needles and makes sure it stays in my skin. I don't get special treatment. If I say 'Stop,' we stop. The best thing about it is that I am not paying by the hour, so I can stop as much as I want!"
