It was only a few months ago that the Foo Fighters revealed that they were taking a break, stepping away from the stage unaware of when they would return. So much for that "break." Drummer Taylor Hawkins reveals that after the rather high profile participation the band members had in Dave Grohl's 'Sound City' project, they've now begun the creative process for the next Foo Fighters record.

Hawkins tells Billboard, "We're getting started. We're getting our ideas together. Dave has his brain working overtime, like usual, and he's got a lot of great ideas, both musically and conceptually -- none that I can speak of at this moment, but it's gonna be great. It's gonna be cool."

The Foo Fighters have enjoyed a good run of successes, which keeps the stakes raised high for the band. Hawkins says that he's aware of the pressure and embraces it full on as they head into the next disc. "You always want every one of them to be the best one you've ever done and you always think you haven't done you're best one," says the drummer. "Although some people may feel we have, I still think we haven't written our 'Hotel California' or our 'Bohemian Rhapsody' or whatever. You should always be a little scared ... Every time you start a record, you have to be, like, ready to f---in' kill yourself or it's not gonna be any good."

With the creative process still in the early stages, Hawkins has the ability to step away for a little bit and he's been playing with his hard rock covers band Chevy Metal of late. He adds that during the next break in activity he would either like to do another Coattail Riders disc or spend more time with Chevy Metal.
