Flashback: Metallica Fans Riot in India After Concert Postponement [Watch]

“It was meant to be a rocking musical evening with fans swaying to Metallica’s beat.” Yes, that was actually said in a media report in the aftermath of destruction caused by rioting fans following a Metallica concert cancellation. When Metallica were slated to perform in India for the first time in 2011, fans were red hot with anticipation. The show was postponed until the next day and chaos ensued.

This news report from India shows the angered fans kicking over signs and destroying property in reaction to finding out that Metallica would not be taking the stage that night. The news came following a three-hour delay due to alleged technical issues, which has us thankful that Axl Rose performs after his lengthy concert delays. Ultimately, Metallica never wound up playing in India, as the show was canceled the following day.
