Five Finger Death Punch, Seether + Halestorm Lead 2016 ShipRocked Cruise Lineup
January can be so cold, so what better time to get away from the frigid temps and set out on a cruise in warmer climates. The ShipRocked Cruise will set sail for the seventh time on Jan. 18-22, 2016, with a stellar lineup of hard rocking acts providing the entertainment.
Five Finger Death Punch, Seether and Halestorm lead the initial list of bands performing aboard the Norwegian Pearl as it sets sail from Miami to Costa May, Mexico. Also joining in the fun this coming year will be Hellyeah, Helmet, 10 Years, Nonpoint, Avatar, Islander, ’68, Children 18:3 and The Dead Deads, plus ’80s covers band Rubix Kube, DJ Lippy Rage and more.
Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Zoltan Bathory, a veteran of the ShipRocked Cruise, says, “ShipRocked isn’t just another show. It’s a music festival, and a vacation rolled into one unique experience. The whole ship is a big backstage party where every fan is invited. We are excited to return and headline the cruise in 2016. See you on deck…”
Seether’s Shaun Morgan adds, “I am absolutely stoked as hell to finally be part of ShipRocked! We have wanted this for so many years and now we get to play music on a cruise ship? F–k yeah! People better bring their drinking hats and get ready for a serious party.”
As for Halestorm, Lzzy Hale chimes in, “After years of us hearing stories from all of our peers about what a great time ShipRocked is … the time has come to experience it for ourselves! It’s our first time, so please don’t be gentle! See all you Freaks on the high seas!!!”
ShipRocked producer Alan Koenig of ASK4 Entertainment explains, “For ShipRocked’s ‘Lucky No. 7,’ we have a fantastic lineup that includes a mix of ShipRocked family favorites and first time performers. We’re very excited to return to Costa Maya on Mexico’s Yucatan coast for the first time since 2011, and are planning some new events and activities for guests to enjoy. We also have some special surprises in store!”
Costa Maya is a coastal paradise in the Yucatan that features stunning beaches with soft sand and blue skies. Excursions (for an additional cost) are offered to ancient Mayan ruins in this region, which is rich with archaeological sites. Other activities include snorkeling, scuba diving, ATV, jeep and dune buggy adventures, catamaran cruises, glass bottom boat rides, paddle boarding, and more.
The Norwegian Pearl offers guests access to 13 bars and lounges, 19 dining experiences, one outdoor pool, four hot tubs, a fitness center, and a well-appointed spa. Those looking for more adventurous activities can bowl a few frames at the onboard lanes, shoot hoops on the sports court or tempt lady luck at The Pearl Club Casino.
