‘Five Bands That Kick My Butt’ by James Robinson of Legacy of Disorder
Legacy of Disorder hail, for the most part, from New Zealand, where lead guitarist Rana Freilich met up with Jason Keill, and later vocalist James Robinson to begin shaping their own brand of metal. with Matt Thompson joining the L.O.D team just prior to recording their 2008 eponymous debut album.
With a ton of touring under their belts, Legacy of Disorder got back in the studio in 2011 with producer Sterling Winfield (Pantera) and the results are deadly. Last Man Standing, the band's sophomore album, is a punishing serving of pit-ready riffs and gruff vocal lines, perfect for any fan of balls to the wall heavy metal.
Currently out on the road in the U.S. with GWAR, Municipal Waste and Ghoul, Legacy of Disorder vocalist James Robinson took some time out to send us a quick list of the five bands that he can't stop listening to on tour.
5. Morgul (Norway)
"I really get into this band for the sludgy dark sound these guys have, cave dwelling all the way!"
4. Graveworm (Italy)
"This band is heavy as fuck! They haven't put out a song I don't like and they make the perfect music for tearing up the roads with the fastest car you can get your hands on while blasting this band to high hell."
3. DevilDriver (United States)
"It's Devildriver what else can I say? Dez has sick vocals and and the whole band is tight, sounding good live and on record."
2. Stone Sour (United States)
"This band is multi-talented in so many different ways and in different genre branches. It's to hard to get sick of there music for the fact that they have everything, melodic songs, heavy songs, acoustic, and even a bit of poetry reading for curve ball."
1. Slipknot (United States)
"My number one all the way baby! One of the first metal bands i had heard in my life. They have been with me since i was 12 and I have stuck with these guys through thick and thin. Slipknot's music has helped me through my life venting thing's I needed as a young kid and even today."
