Fates Warning to Release New Album + Tour This Fall

Fates Warning
Inside Out

Prog metal pioneers Fates Warning are (finally) back with a new album and an accompanying tour. The forward-thinking New England band hasn’t released a new studio album in just under a decade, so it’s high time that they’ve returned with a full platter of new tunes.

The new album is called ‘Darkness in a Different Light’ and it will be released on Oct. 1. The band will support it with a full North American tour, as well.

The group last released an album of new music in 2004 in the form of ‘FWX.’ This is the first album to feature the following lineup: Ray Alder (vocals), Jim Matheos and Frank Aresti (guitars), Joey Vera (bass) and Bobby Jarzombek (drums).

“‘Darkness in a Different Light’ is the result of almost two years of very hard work from everyone in the band,” commented Alder. “I believe that this lineup is the best that Fates has ever had, and I also think that it comes through in the music on this album. It’s been almost nine years since our last studio album and I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished here.”

He continued, “We are looking very much forward to playing some new songs for our fans who have stuck by us over all these years. We plan on touring as much as possible for ‘Darkness in a Different Light’ and hopefully we’ll hit a few new places we’ve never been.”
