Even though you've probably haven't heard of them yet, chances are you've heard some of the musicians in Fake Figures before. The Southern California-based quintet boasts a lineup featuring current or ex-members of groups like Atreyu, Scars of Tomorrow and Hotwire. The new band is on the brink of releasing, 'Hail the Sycophants,' their debut EP.

The release features Fake Figures' angst-ridden brand of hard rock, teeming with emotive vocals courtesy of singer Rus Martin. Noisecreep has partnered with the band to bring you the exclusive premiere of 'Something Deadly,' their first single. Check out the track under the cut.

Listen to 'Something Deadly' from Fake Figures

Fake Figures vocalist Rus Martin told Noisecreep about 'Something Deadly':

"I remember when I first heard the demo of this song – I knew it had great potential from the start to really work well as a show opener or something. But now, after we've finished recording, I can see that all the pre-production that went into it; and even our producer Pete Charell cajoling me into changing the chorus (singing wise) to better it, it is hands down a formidable first single for us to release."

Fake Figures are preparing to give a complete spectrum of their inception and where they are now by also furnishing a full-length documentary chronicling the bands beginning stages [demoing, rehearsals, photo shoot, new member addition, first show, etc.], filmed by bass player Bob Bradley and Martin; who also filmed and edited the band's first video for 'Something Deadly'.

'Hail the Sycophants' will be out soon.
