Eve to Adam’s Taki Sassaris Picks His Top 5 Favorite New York City Bars

If you're a fan of high-energy melodic rock with gigantic choruses, Eve to Adam have your number. The New York City band has been releasing albums and touring the US market ever since 1999 and all their hard work is finally beginning to pay off. Now signed to a label distributed through Universal Music Group, just today the quartet released 'Banquet for a Starving Dog,' their latest and strongest album to date.

In the past Eve to Adam have played with the likes of Saliva, 3 Doors Down, Crossfade, and Tesla, and fans can expect the road warriors to hit the pavement even harder now that they have the support of a bigger company behind them.

Since Eve to Adam dwell in the "city that never sleeps," Noisecreep asked vocalist-guitarist Taki Sassaris to give us some tips on the best bars in NYC. Check out his top 5 picks below the cut.

5. The Skinny Bar & Lounge (174 Orchard Street)

Our favorite dive bar in Manhattan, The Skinny offers great people, interesting atmosphere, killer tunes, and cheap drinks. Dan Gaumond has a heavy-handed pour and a million great stories to tell, as do all the bartenders there. Another edge the Skinny has is the DJ, Billy Crosby. He plays an awesome mix of music that takes you from midnight to sunrise. If you're in Manhattan, head down to the Lower East Side to the Skinny and tell them Eve to Adam sent you.

4. Vareli (2869 Broadway)

This the best bar and restaurant on the Upper West Side. Before Vareli, the only draw to the area was Columbia University co-eds. Located on Broadway off 111th St, Vareli is Greek for barrel, and the ceiling gives you the feeling that you've entered the better side of a wine cask. The outdoor waterfall and indoor fireplace add great ambience, and they have stellar food prepared by the amazing Chef Amitzur Mor and a fantastic wine selection prepared by sommelier Richard Bill...You may even run into a TV or movie star there.

3. Decibel (240 East 9th st)

Decibel is an underground sake bar with no actual sign – so don't blink your eyes or you'll miss it. The only way to know it's there is a small carved sake bottle and "On Air" sign on 9th St, between 2nd and 3rd Avenue. Once you actually find it, go down the stairs and try their selection of amazing sakes. The servers rarely speak much English, and if it feels like a piece of dirty NYC had a lovechild with a Japanese fishing town, then you're in the right place.

2. Lucky Jack's (129 Orchard St)

Irish Pubs are a dime a dozen in New York City, but this place really stands out. Located in the Lower East Side, the bar actually spans from one entrance on Orchard Street all the way through to another entrance on Allen. Inside, the bar offers a fantastic specialty cocktail menu if that's your thing, or you can order a cold draft beer and a shot of whiskey to get the night going. The bartenders are kick ass, the bathrooms are clean, and the atmosphere is cool. Ask for Liam and tell him Taki from ETA recommended the place.

1. Niagara (112 Avenue A)

One of the first places I went to when I moved to NYC. Conveniently located at 7th and Avenue A, it is one of the last real, original East Village hot spots. Owned by rockstar Jesse Malin of D-Generation and solo fame, Niagara is a true East Village landmark. With great drinks, cool DJs, and a nice atmosphere, it's an ideal place to take a girl on a first date.
