Drowning Pool will put on their Christmas show for the third year in a row on Dec. 3 at Dallas' Trees. Last year, the band raised $6000 worth of toys for kids. "I love doing stuff like that," guitarist C.J. Pierce told Noisecreep. "I wish we could do more. I always bring toys. We encourage fans to bring toys and canned food."

Drowning Pool have proven to be quite the philanthropic band, doing USO tours for the troops, as well. It helps keep their heads out of the clouds and feet planted on the group. "It's great to give back," Pierce said. "I am living my dream and my nightmare, by being on the road. But in all seriousness, I am living more the dream part, since I get to play music for a living! I get to do this even though business is wacky!"

Pierce certainly retains his Texas-reared charm and is quite fond of his hometown. "There are so many good people and I love being in downtown Dallas," Pierce said. "Like any big city, Dallas has awesome places to eat."

His favorite? A local sandwich joint called ET's. "They have amazing sandwiches," Pierce said. "As soon as I get off the road, I go to ET's and get a sandwich. They have great stuff, and when you are lazy and don't want to do any cooking, you can go there. It's like Whole Foods, but smaller with that whole grocery store/restaurant concept." Pierce also likes to hit up the in-any-city Capital Grille. "I like to get me a steak," he said. "I can't lie."

Drowning Pool's self-titled album is out now.
