Dream Theater’s Jordan Rudess Rocks NAMM (VIDEO EXCLUSIVE)

Charles Epting

The annual NAMM convention held each year in Anaheim, Calif. always presents many unique opportunities to watch some of the greatest musicians in the world up close and personal.

One of the most talked about appearances at this year’s show was the Jordan Rudess–Rod Morgenstein (Winger, Dixie Dregs, Steve Morse Band) collaboration at the Korg booth as the duo reunited to perform the Emerson Lake & Palmer 1971 classic, “Tarkus.”

Rudess, the Dream Theater keyboard wizard, is always in his element at the convention performing at numerous clinics concerts and exhibitions. But watching him mix it up with Morgenstein was truly a treat. A jam-packed room at the high tech Korg booth was wowed not once, but twice as the pair performed the epic, sprawling prog-rock classic on back-to-back days.

We were in the room for the first performance and Noisecreep also had the opportunity to speak with Jordan just before he and Morgenstein took the stage.
