Dragged Into Sunlight

Prosthetic Records has signed its first U.K. act, the ominous and enigmatic black/death/doom outfit Dragged Into Sunlight and will re-release 'Hatred for Mankind' in April of 2010. The album was initially issued via Mordgrimm Records earlier this year.

Dragged Into Sunlight are a cryptic, creepy bunch that refuse to reveal their identities and individual names, appear masked in photos and perform surrounded by darkness and smoke. It's their way of turning their backs on image-driven extreme metal which is often construed as 'false.' While some may consider the avoidance of cultivating an image to be an image unto itself, Dragged Into Sunlight aren't playing by those rules at all.

"Underpinning Dragged Into Sunlight is a misery, loneliness and disappointment impossible to imagine unless you've walked the path of those involved," the band told Noisecreep. "The concept is, for these purposes, straightforward: a collective of genuine individuals with a genuine passion for disgust. Old, cold and bitter as hell. Dragged Into Sunlight serves as a poignant reminder that, without image, you're left with nothing but bare bones. You either like what you see or you don't."

We like what we see so far. The band will head over for their first American tour next year to support the re-releases as well. "We particularly anticipate playing overseas shows, promoting the album and meeting friends," the band also said.
