District 97 Deliver Prog-Rock Hooks on ‘Open Your Eyes’ (VIDEO PREMIERE)

Allison Williams

Meshing tech-heavy arrangements and tempo shifts with pop-laced vocal hooks, District 97 are one of the more exciting prog-rock bands we’ve covered on Noisecreep as of late. Featuring former American Idol Finalist Leslie Hunt on vocals, the Chicago-based quintet recently released Trouble With Machines, their sophomore album.

District 97 just sent us their new video for “Open Your Eyes,” one of the hookiest cuts on Trouble With Machines.

“We chose to do our music video for ‘Open Your Eyes’ at Reggie’s Rock Club because they have been so supportive and awesome over the years, and we feel right at home there,” Hunt tells Noisecreep. “The video was a blast to make, as we just got to rock out on this song all day long! I also think it showcases our energy really well, ’cause we have lots of it, and it definitely shows. Our good friend, Ed Clift, was the producer, Jason Brox was the director/editor-colorist, Chris Hadland did camera/lighting and Erden Ertal was the grip/camera assistant. They were an incredible team and we’re very excited to have such a great video to share with our fans, whom we greatly appreciate.”
