Ronnie James Dio left this earthly plane only six months ago after losing his battle with stomach cancer, but his memory lives in our hearts. His generous wife, Wendy Dio, has donated $100,000 to the T.J. Martell Foundation for leukemia, cancer and AIDS research.

The donation will fund a research program for stomach cancer that will bear her late husband's name. At the foundation's 35th annual awards fete, Wendy Dio encouraged the audience and participants to have cancer screenings and check ups and to look after their health.

Overall, the T.J. Martell foundation raked in nearly 1.5 million at the event.

If you'd like to enjoy some intimate, up close and personal memories of Dio, check out our recent ''Creep Show' interview with David "Rock" Feinstein, whose new album 'Bitten by the Beast' features 'Metal Will Never Die,' one of the final songs recorded by Dio.
