It's been three long years since Def Leppard released their last studio effort, 'Songs From the Sparkle Lounge' and while the band has satiated fans with the recent release of the 'Mirrorball' live effort, guitarist Vivian Campbell revealed to Gibson.com that he is hoping his band springs into action and releases a studio album next year.

The guitarist said that the record should "lean a little bit more more towards the rock side of the spectrum" and that he hopes it mirrors (not mirroballs!) the band's classic 'High 'n' Dry' album, which came out back in 1981.

We're with Viv on this one. We'd love some new Def Lep, sooner than later. And if it veered towards to classic 'High 'n' Dry' sound, we'd rejoice, not complain.
