A young fan at a Dead Cross show last week (Aug. 16) in Austin, Tex. got the thrill of a lifetime when frontman Mike Patton brought him onstage to assist in some screaming and fist-pumping.

"Yes man!" Patton enthuses at the end of the song before asking the mini-headbanger his name. "Give it up for Jackson!"

After inquiring where the elated Jackson got his bright red hair, drummer Dave Lombardo asks him to come over to the kit for a pair of drumsticks. "You rule," Patton told Jackson, before asking, "Can we maybe kidnap you and take you to California?" But even though the kid appeared to be on cloud nine, he shook his head no before the singer sent him back to whatever super cool adult brought him to the gig. "Youngest fan ever - right?," mused the singer.

In other Dead Cross news, following a canceled show in Los Angeles Monday due to an injury Patton sustained while skateboarding, the band triumphantly returned to the stage last night at the city's El Rey Theatre.

“Check me out, I’m all f--ked up, see?" Patton says in the video below before mimicking being all messed up. "This is what happens when a 50 year-old tries to skateboard...bad. Whoever came last night, thank you, for your patience and understanding. And we hope you f--king dig it!” The group were forced to delay their El Rey show by a day after Patton's injury.

Dead Cross are in the midst of their inaugural North American tour, which continues tonight in Berkeley, Calif. ... that is, if Patton plays it safe in the meantime. The rest of the dates can be seen on the tour poster below.
