Dave Mustaine has shown the ability to continually thrive in the music industry, but he's also earning some respect in the wine community of late. The vocalist's vineyards were responsible for the Platinum Award/Best in Show at the 2017 San Diego International Wine Competition.

It was Mustaine's She-Wolf, Tempranillo Rose that won out, with She-Wolf also earning the Double Gold Award for Best of Class Region at the 2017 California State Fair Wine Competition. The Double Gold award is reserved for wines that receive a unanimous vote for Gold by the panel of judges.

She-Wolf also was chosen Best of Class at the 2017 Pacific Rim International Wine Competition, after a two-day blind taste test that took place in April.

Mustaine recently invited a small number of Megadeth fans to visit his vineyard during the Megadeth Boot Camp. Fans stayed at the family estate and toured the winery, while also getting a chance to taste some of the potential wines for release. Wine enthusiasts have described the rose as a wonderful Spanish-style with a delicate aroma of strawberries, raspberries and citrus peel. Learn more about the Mustaine Vineyards here.

While Mustaine's vineyards seem to be doing quite well, the rocker is also keeping busy with his regular gig as frontman of Megadeth. The group is heading back on the road this summer for a headlining tour followed by the band playing dates with Scorpions on their "Crazy World" tour. See all of the band's scheduled dates here.
