Dave Mustaine is going classical. The guitarist and Megadeth frontman will be a featured soloist with the San Diego Symphony in April 2014. He will be included in a program that will feature Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyrie” from Die Walküre; Vivaldi’s “Winter” from The Four Seasons; and Dvorak’s “Symphony No. 9″ (the “New World” Symphony). The goal of incorporating a metal musician of Mustaine’s caliber is to help the symphony reach new audiences. Mustaine’s exact involvement is currently being hammered out. [Megadeth Official Site]

Zakk Wylde is headed out on the road for quick acoustic tour of the West Coast. These cozy, intimate shows coincide with the paperback release of his book, Bringing Metal to the Children: The Complete Berzerker’s Guide to World Tour Domination, which hits shelves on April 9.

Those are some righteous additions!
