Dave Mustaine, Supergroup: Megadeth Singer Apologizes to James Hetfield for Talking Up Metallica-Megadeth Collabo

Last week, James Hetfield stated an opinion that's shared by plenty of people -- among them gays, Satanists and folks who think Barack Obama was born in America -- around the country: Dave Mustaine has a "big mouth." In particular, the Metallica frontman was miffed at Mustaine for talking-up a potential supergroup collaboration, and now the Megadeth frontman has responded to Hetfield's comments.

"I already sent a text message and said I apologized to him for saying that and that I won't ever mention it again," Mustaine told Artisan news, according to MetalInsider.net.

Hetfield made his remarks during an interview with So What! magazine, and speaking on the possibility of a joint Megadeth-Metallica album, he dismissed the idea as "crazy stuff."

Still, Hetfield did have some kind words for his former Metallica bandmate, who he sees as "healthier now" and "less of a bitter guy." Mustaine, too, has fondness for his onetime cohort -- though maybe more than Hetfield.

"I guess my whole thing was I just wanted them to know that I loved them and that I missed them and I enjoyed playing with them," Mustaine told Artisan News. "If that's not mutual, then I understand. I still respect him, and I still care about the guy. If he doesn't wanna play anymore, that's cool. If he doesn't like the idea of what I said, that's OK, too. It wasn't like I said it was gonna happen, it was something that I kind of wished would happen."
