God Forbid will play a benefit show for victims of Hurricane Sandy on Friday, Jan. 11 at the Boneyard on Virginia Avenue in Atlantic City, N.J. The band, which hails from New Jersey, was personally affected by the superstorm, which ripped through the region around Halloween. The show is part of Revive the Shore, a concert series that will benefit areas affected by Hurricane Sandy. Doors open at 6PM and tickets are available for $15 dollars in advance or for $18 at the door.

Vocalist Byron Davis said, “We would like to wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. With that being said we should take this time and reflect on how tragedy can turn ones world upside down; we need to be grateful for the ones we have in our lives and remember those who have lost everything.

“This benefit show gives us the opportunity to let our fellow New Jerseyians know that we have not forgotten them and will honor their struggles with pride. For one night, we will all come together for remembrance and fun to raise contributions that will help rebuild communities and people’s spirits that were affected around the Jersey Shore. We are looking forward to seeing New Jersey stand together united. See you there!” [Via Press Release]

Supremely awesome and little-known Belgian grind band Leng Tch’e are writing and recording a new album. The band issued a politically incorrect update about what to expect this year.

“We’re nearly finished with the songwriting of our next album! Pre-production will start in February and hopefully we can finish our next masterpiece of brutally grooving grindcore by summertime. Which means we’ll bring this retarded circus back on the road in late 2013.”

The band last released an album in 2010 in the form of Hypomanic, which was issued by Season of Mist. [Lambgoat]
