Darkest Hour Studio Bound

DC-based metallers Darkest Hour have converged on Baltimore’s Salad Days Studio on March 9 to thrash and burn. The quintet will commence recording their sixth album, titled ‘The Eternal Return.’ Guitarist Mike Schleibaum, who is working on producing and mixing other bands on the side, said that the six-month long writing process was arduous, but in the best possible way.

“We have challenged ourselves to make the sickest melodic death metal record we can,” Schleibaum told Noisecreep. “We’re writing this record for all those who truly love melodic death/thrash/punk/core.” Schleibaum exclusively revealed that the band wrote 15 songs and expects 10 of these monsters to make the final cut of the album.

Schliebaum also says that through the process, producer Brian Mcternan has been “keeping a watchful eye on us the whole time and we can wait to get in the studio and bring these songs to life.” The record is due out through longtime label Victory Records sometime this summer and will be followed by what Schleibaum deems “some sick touring plans.”
