Danzig is resurrecting the Blackest of the Black Tour this fall. The tour last hit the road in 2008, and after a one-year hiatus, Glenn Danzig and his band will hit the road and canvas 19 cities with Bay Area thrashers Possessed, Swedish black metal hellions Marduk, crust thrashers Toxic Holocaust and sludge merchants Withered in tow.

Marduk rarely bring their blackness to U.S. soil, so this is a rare treat for extreme metal fans. The tour commences on Oct. 25, just in time for the height of the autumn season that Danzig is so lovingly associated with.

Danzig's band for Blackest of the Black will consist of Tommy Victor (Prong, Ministry) on guitar, Steve Zing (Samhain) on bass and regularly contributor Bevan Davies on drums. Danzig is scheduled to perform at the free Red Bull Metallicross event at Pala Casino in Pala, Calif. on Oct. 23, on the eve of the Blackest of the Black kickoff.

"I'm excited about taking out both Possessed and Marduk as fans will get a chance to see these two bands who rarely tour the US," said Danzig in a statement. Danzig himself hasn't graced some of the tour markets with his formidable presence in over two years, either, so it'll be a full-on metal treat for fans.

Blackest of the Black first launched in 2003, and repeated in 2005, 2006 and 2008. These Danzig tour dates are always an event in the metal world.

Noisecreep recently premiered Danzig's video for 'On a Wicked Night,' which Danzig self-directed. It was shot where the original 'Batman' series was filmed.
