Glenn Danzig, known for his temperamental behavior and for cancelling gigs at whim, won't be playing the Stage AE in Pittsburgh, Penns. this evening (June 5). The show has been axed because the "Mother" singer is sick. Get better soon, Glenn. The venue confirmed that the show is off via a tweet. [Blabbermouth]

I Am War, the project featuring two incredibly toned, tattooed Orange Country screamers in the form of Bleeding Through's Brandan Schieppati and Atreyu's Alex Varkatzas, have dropped "Bat Out of Hell." It's pretty epic, and feels like a boot to the throat. It also sounds like Brandan and Alex, but cranked to 11. The song will be released as a 7" single on June 26 via Razor & Tie. Their debut longplayer Outlive You All, follows on Aug. 28. [Alternative Press]

Studio engineer George Marino, who boasted quite a rock resume, having worked on Metallica's "Black" album and Guns N' Roses' Appetite for Destruction, among others, died of lung cancer on June 4. His passing sparked a flurry of tributes from rockers, including Metallica and Anthrax. R.I.P. [Loudwire]

Kreator just dropped their 13th album Phantom Antichrist. The Teutonic warriors have been making their glorious metal racket for decades, and frontman/guitarist Mille Petrozza recalled what it was like to be the first metal band to play in East Germany after 1990's reunification. "It was great as there were 10,000 fans," he recalled about the historic event. "When we played, there was a huge anticipation as the system didn't allow the East Germans to listen to metal, punk rock or underground music. This made people very hungry for bands like us and it was a great night. Before the reunification, there was the wall and restrictions that prevented West German bands from playing over there." How awesome that heavy metal was intrinsically affected by the reunification? [The Gauntlet]
