Kimmee Masi loves rock 'n' roll and baking so much that she actually had the courage and the tenacity to ditch her day job as a customer service rep at an insurance company in New Jersey to manage Our Last Sin, the band in which she plays drums, full-time.

She also decided to open Confections of a Rock$tar, a musically-inspired bakery. Her offerings include "Greetings From Asbury Park," a cinnamon cupcake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting; "Brown-Eyed Girl," a salted caramel fudge brownie; and the "Tunnel of Love" cannoli. Not only are they cleverly named, but they make your mouth water over their ooey, gooey goodness. Are you drooling yet?

In a chat with Noisecreep, Masi revealed why she decided to pursue her two passions full time and how the music she loves inspires her baked treats. Her bakery is a true labor of love on all fronts.

She drums. She bakes. She is inspired by rock 'n' roll. Hear that boys? She's your dream girl!

We love the idea of a rock 'n' roll bakery. What inspired you to ditch the day job and do what you love full time? It's not easy to take that plunge, but you did.

I love rock 'n' roll and actually quit my day job to manage my band [Our Last Sin] full-time. I have always baked for family and friends and thought that my retirement would have been spent opening a bake shoppe. Doing this earlier, I knew that the store had to be different, and combine my two passions of music and baking, and Confections of a Rock$tar was born.

Obviously, you are located in a region that is famous for the beach and for the Boss aka Bruce Springsteen. Think you could ever get him in for a photo opp with a baked good?

That would be awesome and I can only hope he'll come walking through that door one day!

Is there a Bon Jovi cupcake or treat on the menu?

Heck Yeah! Our "Have a Nice Day" is a tribute to Bon Jovi. It's a seasonal cupcake!

Besides the cute names, do the songs or acts themselves factor into the recipes for your concoctions?

The recipes fit the names. An example is our "Don't Be Cruel." I occasionally look at music trivia and on one particular day, I learned that it was the day that Elvis released "Don't Be Cruel," so, I did some research about his favorite foods and came up with our "Don't Be Cruel" cupcake, which is banana cake with peanut butter frosting, topped with delicious honey-dipped bacon.

Would you ever have a rock band perform acoustically at the bakery?

Most definitely.

Did you suffer from any of the affects of Hurricane Sandy, since your are based in the Jersey Shore region.

Yes, but not nearly as bad as others. We lost tons of product and ingredients due to power interruption but that can't compare to the losses of others. So, I consider ourselves lucky.

Shameless plug/self-promo time! Ready, set, go!

Saweet! We love what we do! We love our fans (new and old). They love our products and we just want to rock the world one "cake" at a time!
