Coheed and Cambria, ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’: Band Covers Gotye Hit

Further proof that everyone likes Aussie-Belgian singer Gotye‘s ubiquitous hit “Somebody That I Used to Know“: poppy, proggy metal dudes Coheed and Cambria covered the song last night (April 29) in Charlottesville, Virg.

In the clip below, the foursome manages just fine without the nudity and body paint that are hallmarks of Gotye’s mega-popular video. Theirs is a straightforward version, though frontman Claudio Sanchez does play the guitar with his mouth, adding a dash of theatricality.

No word yet on how Gotye’s tune fits into C&C’s “Armory Wars” narrative — the complex storyline the band has unfurled throughout its discography — but we’re guessing there’s some intensely meaningful connection.
