With former bassist Michael Todd is dealing with the fallout (read: awaiting trial for armed robbery) after having held up a Walgreen's in Massachusetts in an attempt to score some prescription drugs before a scheduled gig with Soundgarden last summer, Coheed and Cambria not only distanced themselves from him. They fired him. Now, they forward-thinking rockers have officially replaced him. There's nothing wrong with moving right along...

Former AM to AM bassist Zach Cooper is Co + Ca's new bass player. He's bearded to boot! Cooper is introduced via the video below, revealing how the band's manager called him out of the blue, asking him to audition for the band. Cooper termed the cold call and the subsequent process "surreal" and was floored that he was recommended. He says he is glad someone said nice things about him, which in turn got the band and its handlers to reach out.

Watch Cooper and Coheed and Cambria relay the process of welcoming him into the band via the audition process. The "excitement" and "flair" in Cooper's playing caught frontman Claudio Sanchez's attention. That's always a good thing. We're glad the band is moving onward and upward after last July's drama.
