As a way to say "thank you" to fans, Cleveland's Chimaira are releasing an exclusive, 'Deluxe Fan Edition Box Set' of their forthcoming monster, 'The Infection,' which will be limited to 600 copies, with 100 bearing autographs. The set includes assorted extras like metal briefcase packaging, a laminate, a 'The Infection' logo flag, a pack of guitar picks and a Syringe USB which will unlock exclusive content like bonus songs and computer wallpaper.

"For the past four releases, we've followed the label standard and made our records and let [the label] promote them," vocalist Mark Hunter tells Noisecreep. "This time, we wanted to help out and make it fun for our fans. Chris Spicuzza and I designed a way for fans to promote us, and in turn, they get new music clips in advance. It's kind of like a street team, but you're not promoting the shitty bands on the label. We plan to kick it into phase two shortly and offer our fans even more goodies."

Chimaira are aware that the music industry is changing and that's why the band is evolving with the times. "We refuse to be a slave to stale ideas," Hunter continues. "The fans love being a part of this band beyond listening to our albums and seeing us live, so this is the first of many ideas we're working on." The fan box set is the "ultimate Chimaira package," according to Hunter. "We've never had the opportunity to create something so killer and since the days of the CD are numbered, we figured, 'Let's go out in style.' We are giving fans a very special case that will include photos, music and other awesome items that nobody else will get. This is for the truest of true fans." Fans can expose themselves to this particular infection on April 21.
