Children of Bodom missed out on their Nashville performance last night (Aug. 8), as it was reported that frontman Alexi Laiho had been hospitalized. According to Metal Underground, no reason was given for his hospitalization, but this is not the first ailment the singer-guitarist has endured while touring.

Laiho reportedly spent a few nights in the hospital last month while touring as part of the Mayhem Festival, citing severe stomach pain. And just last year, Laiho was hospitalized in Norway due to a "serious infection."

Refunds were offered to Nashville concert attendees who chose to leave after hearing the band would not be playing. The three other acts on the bill played extended performances to fill the void left by Children of Bodom's absence.

At press time, it is not known if Laiho's ailment will keep the band from performing tonight in Cleveland. We send our best wishes to Alexi Laiho and Children of Bodom for a speedy recovery.
