Children of Bodom frontman/guitar god Alexi Laiho remains hospitalized.

The band was forced to cancel its July 3 show in Oslo and its July 4 show in Sweden after Laiho fell ill with stomach pains. He was rushed to the hospital and as it turns out, he is suffering from a serious infection. The band posted an update about Laiho and his health. He remains under a doctor’s care and his release date is TBD. The full text of the statement is as follows:

“This is not an easy letter for us to write. Alexi is suffering from a serious infection. He is still in hospital in Oslo under supervision of the doctors and we don’t know yet when they will release him.

We have no choice other than canceling Ruisrock in Turku on Saturday as well. This is a very bitter pill for us to swallow. We had decided to do only two festivals in our homeland this summer to make it real special, and now this. We hope that we will be able to make up for this very soon.

To all our fans who had been looking forward to rock with us at Ruisrock this weekend, take our apologies and enjoy the festival. In our spirits, we will be there, too.”

Get better soon Alexi! [Blabbermouth]

Fozzy have premiered the new song ‘Sandpaper from Sin and Bones. The album drops on Aug. 14 via Century Media. This tune is special because it features a guest vocal appearance from Avenged Sevenfold frontman M. Shadows. Have a listen. [Revolver]

San Diego extreme metallers Pathology will drop The Time of Great Purification on Sept. 25. “This is definitely our heaviest and most technical album to date,” said drummer Dave Astor in a press statement. The concept of the album and the art is simple: The Doctor is controlling the 2012 apocalypse and destroying the world! Fear the Doctor, it seems. [Via Victory Records Press Release]

Insane Clown Posse fans are known as Juggalos. They paint their faces and get Hatchet Man tattoos. They attend the group’s annual Gathering of the Juggalos event. They were also classified as a gang by the FBI. Needless to say -but we’ll say it anyway- the Juggalos are an interesting and colorful bunch. Check out this gallery of photos of Juggalo fails. That is, instances were Juggalo-dom has gone wrong. [Loudwire]
