After several months of teasing with cryptic video clips, we're not getting our first taste of new AFI music. Davey Havok and the boys have been holed up in the studio working on the follow-up to 'Crash Love' and their first new song off the upcoming disc is titled 'I Hope You Suffer.'

Alter Bridge, featuring Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti, are working on their fourth studio album, but there's a twist in their approach, at least in terms of one song on the disc. The guitarist has confirmed that he actually sings lead vocals on a new track.

Slash is keeping busy while Myles Kennedy is back working with his other band Alter Bridge. The break in their 'Apocalyptic Love' touring has allowed the guitarist to fulfill one of his other passions, recently completing the soundtrack to 'Nothing Left to Fear,' the upcoming film from his production company, Slasher Films.

There's a whole lot of reworked and stripped down Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society music on the way in the form of the new 'Unblackened' DVD and Blu-ray. The collection, in all its formats, is scheduled to drop on Sept. 24.

Asking Alexandria are gearing up for the Aug. 6 release of their new album 'From Death to Destiny.' They've shared a 10-minute audio preview of the record, which you can listen to above. But we feel compelled to issue a warning: You will have your rear end handed to you.

It's time for a metal madrigal, courtesy of Finnish "battle metal" warriors Turisas. The band will release 'Turisas2013' on Sept. 3 and to ramp up excitement, Turisas have shared the battle-ready new song 'Into the Free.' It's a galloping "freedom anthem" that will certainly get fists pumping in the air and get you pumped for the battlefield aka the concert room floor. Read Mor

Forego a wake up dose of caffeine or coffee or whatever it is that you need to start your day. Turn your speakers up as high as they'll go. Have a listen to the title track and single from Avenged Sevefold's sixth album 'Hail to the King,' which is a midtempo rager that's distinctly A7X, full of galloping guitar solos and fist pumping chants.

Newsted are giving fans another little taste of their forthcoming album, 'Heavy Metal Music,' by serving up a snippet of the new track 'Above All' in demo form. The 30-second clip can be heard above.

The Smashing Pumpkins had to pre-empt their plans to perform at the brand new Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Halloween of last year when Hurricane Sandy blew through on a path of destruction. The show was postponed to Dec. 10 and the event is now immortalized in the form of 'Oceania: Live in NYC,' which is due out Sept. 3.

The Pearl Jam countdown has hit zero for the second time this week, this time unveiling the band's new single 'Mind Your Manners' as well as the album title, artwork and release date for their upcoming disc. The effort is titled 'Lightning Bolt' and is scheduled for an Oct. 15 street date.
