"I would call Candlelight Red's music as heavy, melodic and emotion-driven rock. There are a lot of big hooks, but we're always aggressive," Jeremy Edge tells Noisecreep. The Candlelight Red guitarist is on the line during a long drive in between shows on their current tour, when Noisecreep asks him to describe his band's sound.

The Pennsylvania-based group is out in support of 'The Wreckage,' their recently released new album. The record's lead-off single, 'Closer,' has been garnering major attention on rock radio without the benefit of a major label behind them. "We started the band about three years ago and have been working hard ever since. Once we started playing regional shows, we got picked up by our label and then into the studio to work on our new album. We hooked up with a producer named David Ivory (Halestorm, The Roots) and he really helped us bring out the best in our material," says Edge.

"It's been a long road for me. I've been playing in bands since I was a teenager, trying to get my music noticed. Things are starting to happen for Candlelight Red, but it's tougher than ever out there. The bright side of it is the social media side of things. It's been a really helpful tool for bands in our position. The other thing that is cool is the recording aspect for smaller bands. You can go out and get an affordable Pro Tools rig and record your own album. That's obviously really helpful when you're starting out.

"Look, it's still really hard for rock bands like us to make it. It's a tough market to break into. It takes a lot of promotion, money and hitting the road. I guess our hard work is finally beginning to pay off. We are having a great time on the tour we're on right now," Edge tells Noisecreep.

Candlelight Red has been out on an American tour with 10 Years. "Our booking agent heard from 10 Years' management and offered us a 3-week run. They've been really supportive of us and seem to really like what we're doing. Getting the chance to play in front of their fans has been a kickass time!"

Candlelight Red is no stranger to sharing the stage with established and well-known hard rock acts, as they have opened shows for the likes of KISS and most recently with Egypt Central and Rev Theory.
